Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using screenurl ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

2. Description of Service

screenurl provides a REST API that allows users to capture screenshots of websites programmatically. The Service includes:

  • Website screenshot capture via API endpoints
  • User account management and API key generation
  • Usage tracking and rate limiting
  • Various screenshot customization options (viewport size, format, full-page capture)

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Capture screenshots of illegal content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or usage quotas
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use automated systems to abuse the Service
  • Capture screenshots of websites that explicitly prohibit such activity
  • Harass, stalk, or threaten others
  • Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service

4.1 Prohibited Content

You are strictly prohibited from using the Service to capture, generate, store, or distribute screenshots containing:

  • Adult/NSFW Content: Pornography, sexually explicit material, nudity, or other adult content
  • Violence and Gore: Graphic violence, gore, mutilation, or content depicting harm to humans or animals
  • Illegal Content: Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorism-related content, drug trafficking, weapons sales, or any content illegal under applicable law
  • Hate Speech: Content promoting hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Malware and Phishing: Screenshots of phishing sites, malware distribution pages, or other malicious content
  • Private Information: Non-consensual sharing of private, personal, or confidential information (doxxing)

4.2 Content Filtering

We reserve the right to implement automated content filtering and moderation systems to detect and block prohibited content. Repeated violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.

4.3 Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any content that violates these terms, please report it immediately to abuse@screenurl.com.

5. Rate Limiting and Fair Use

To ensure fair access and service stability for all users:

  • Monthly Quotas: Each plan includes a monthly screenshot limit. Exceeding this limit will result in API requests being rejected until your usage resets.
  • Request Rate Limits: API requests are limited to 10 concurrent requests per API key to prevent abuse.
  • Demo Endpoint: The public demo endpoint is limited to 5 requests per minute per IP address.
  • Abuse Prevention: Automated systems monitor for unusual patterns. Abuse may result in temporary or permanent restrictions.

We may adjust rate limits at any time to maintain service quality. Enterprise customers may request custom rate limits.

6. Usage Limits and Billing

The Service offers different pricing tiers with varying usage limits. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase
  • Automatic renewal of subscriptions unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Usage limits that reset monthly on your billing cycle date

Exceeding your plan's usage limit will result in API requests being rejected until your usage resets or you upgrade to a higher tier.

7. API Keys

Your API key is your credential for accessing the Service. You must:

  • Keep your API key confidential and secure
  • Not share your API key with third parties
  • Immediately regenerate your API key if you suspect it has been compromised

We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are found to be misused or compromised.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Automata Army and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Screenshots you capture using the Service belong to you, subject to the intellectual property rights of the original website owners.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Screenshots will be 100% accurate representations of websites
  • All websites can be successfully captured

10. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL AUTOMATA ARMY, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Is fraudulent or illegal

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
